Historical and contemporary speeches will be analyzed to discern the principles of rhetoric.  Several speech forms will be practiced: Impromptu, Expository, Persuasive/Original Oratory, and Oratorical Interpretation.  There will be an emphasis on peer-to-peer assessments and class discussion.  This course is a college preparatory class, and is eligible to meet the requirements for high school electives credit (.5 credit hour).
